                     KANA LEARNA

This is a game i developed for myself at first, but i
decided to polish and release it for general use. It 
was inspired by an ebook i downloaded to help me learn
Japanese - the ebook was very good, but the Kana-teaching
"games" it came bundled with were so awful i thought
"i could make a better one myself!", so i did.

CONTROLS:

Left - Select first choice
Down - select second choice
Right - select third choice
Enter - Start game, go back from correct/incorrect
screens
Up - Go back from correct/incorrect screens
Rshift - Go back from correct/incorrect screens

OTHER INFO:

Hiragana and Katakana are both included in the game
and "colour coded". Hiragana are "curly" and are used
to define Japanese words along with / in addition to
Kanji (which are Chinese letters). Katakana are used 
to "spell out" foreign words in Japanese - some words
from other languages have been adopted in Japanese
such as Pasokon (personal computer) and Surippa 
(slippers).
This "colour coding" does sometimes make it obvious
which one is correct, but that will help you remember,
eh? Just keep plugging away at the game and take the
time to occasionally write symbols you feel you have
learned and you'll get the hang of them.
There are also several "combined" forms of Kana which
don't always show up in books as they are "obvious" 
if you know the two symbols they are made up of. But
for simplicity and as an aid to learning i have included
them in the game.
Additionally, the Kana and Romaji used in the game both
come from some images i downloaded off google images.
This means that the romanisations may not match any
books you may have. There's no real "right" way of
transcribing Japanese into roman letters anyway.

KNOWN BUGS:
Because sometimes two or more Kana define the same 
sound, you may get two (or even three!) "right answers"
because the game includes the same amount of Kana as
Romaji, and there's no way of checking if two of the
possible answers are the same. Just try either of the
right answers, and if it says you are "wrong" you know
you were still right really!
