General Info:

Bryan West is a crime reporter on the Today newspaper, one of the few to still have it's main office in Fleet Street in London (though it's printed elsewhere). He is better known to the public as The Serpent - the mysterious gadget-laden crime fighter who has defeated a number of major villains. His rich father was killed in 2016, and Bryan discovered a secret cellar where his dad had been working on a bunch of snake-related paraphenalia including a material that can change it's friction level, and a diluted muscle-relaxing venom that can be used as a tranquiliser "dart" when frozen and shot at people.

Bryan is also very good at parkour, and a HEMA afficionado. He can use swords, staves, knives and clubs very well

Because he is The Serpent, he can't very well get pictures of himself in action, so his boss is coming to beleive he is ridiculously incompetent, as he always seems to be on the bog / running late when The Serpent turns up.

Character Origin:

He is based on the old British comic character King Cobra, who was himself a Batman ripoff. My one is even more of a Batman ripoff (there was never a King-Cobra-mobile). The Serpent itself is a throwback to the British comics of the 1940's (themselves inspired by Golden Age America, though usually black and white, and short), Japanese comics of the 50's and American comics of the 60's.

Little Known Fact:

I was in a 7-11 on (Imazato-suji?) in Osaka, when I saw a great big brick of an old Samurai comic on a shelf, and thought "why can't the west have big brick-like books of comics like that? Preferably ones about cheesy retro superheroes". So I decided to be the change I wanted to see in the world, and do it myself.
