A car built by Ford of Britain to slot in between thier small Anglia and big Zephyr and Zodiac, it featured modern construction techniques (for the time) and could be priced competitively, selling in great numbers.

there was 1200 and 1500 engines initially available, along with 2-door, 4-door and estate versions. The "deluxe" estate version had wood on it, but this wasn't structural. In 1964 the design was revised with a different grille, "incorporating" the indicators, and a changed dashboard and ventilation system.

Lotus also built a version called the Lotus Cortina, with a modified and bored-out 1.6 engine and a distinctive green-on-white paint job. Several ordinary 2 door versions have since been converted into fake Lotuses

From the 2040's, the Homonian nationalised car company remade the car as the Watling Sparrow.

Agent Smoke - Sarah Millman drives one which has been converted to run on hydrogen. It's almost 100 years old by that time, and people keep confusing it for the similar-looking Watling Sparrow. Later she crashes it into the bedroom of an airship.
