General Info: |
A popular saloon car in seventies Britain. It has the iconic "coke bottle" styling that defined the era. Many had vinyl roofs. There were also estate and (very rare) convertible versions. It was facelifted partway through it's life, with a slightly-different front end and modernised interior. The best known version was the 1600E, with a 1.6l engine, some handling and economy refinements, and plush seats - but still for a reasonable price over "ordinary" models. |

Scum Slaughter - Sunita has a "gold" (let's be honest, it's orange) one with a shit brown vinyl roof. She's put a modern injected 2.9 engine from a 90's Granada Scorpio in, but otherwise kept it normal looking. A proper Q-car! |

Origin / Inspiration: |
They are really cool. My dad very briefly had a 2-door, rusty blue one with bullet mirrors when I was a kid. Also Life On Mars reminded me of them. Sunita's one was based on one I saw in an issue of Classic Ford, when I first started Scum Slaughter. If I remember rightly, that one was dark metallic grey and had understated exterior mods. Sunita only copied the engine conversion! |
