05/01/26 - Keep it up, stick it out, take it on the chin Another day, another Mini Story. Yep, this time it's P.I.E., My inadvertent X-files ripoff, which is also an entirely advertent Dive Anon ripoff. And now it's time to work on the next three Mini-Stories, which will be P.I.E. 2, St Jude's on Tour and Tea Room Mystery. Also I added a blur filter and "18+" warning to Agent Smoke's little "latest comic" box. Which may or may not be a hint that something's afoot with that comic ;) . 25/01/26 - Good heavens! An orange! January 25th marks the 25th Birthday of Felney! It was also the day of Kansai Comitia 75, which a report about will be made somewhen or other. Anyway, I've uploaded Felney 2, a crappy abandoned text story from 2003. I really only wrote the opening, oh well, look at it if ya must! There's also The Felney Special. This was meant to be a small print book in 2021, but "all that" was going on, and I didn't want to dump my crap on the harassed, understaffed Ka-Blam. I may expand it into a 100 page book to "re-tell" the "greatest hits" of Classic Felney, in the context of the modern story (bi, conservative Mike, goth Vinny, musical Tina etc). I've even made a new game! I dug up some old software I bought in 2002, called The 3D Game Maker. When I got it, I thought "yeah! Let's make GTA3 in Felney!". Wierdly enough, crappy Darkbasic-based £20 software wasn't able to re-create early 2002's best triple-A title. I got annoyed and uninstalled it. Anyway, now it's free! I downloaded it, after vaguely remembering the one, long-lost, stupid game I made with it. I found it's actually a bit more versatile and customisable than I thought (what looks like decorations on the menus are actually icons to open further menus!). I've even managed to put some custom textures in games! Anyway, the first game is part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, it's called Oo-Arr Farmer, and lets you play as the "baddies" of Classic Felney! Another game is coming, a re-make of that crappy game I made in 2002. Actually I've already re-made it almost exactly, but why stop there? I'm tinkering about with the software and custom textures to make a much better version. It was also supposed to be part of the 25th anniversary, but didn't get done in time... hopefully it won't be long, though. It's... very stupid. Also I found some more old stuff for Classic Felney, including the page I made to celebrate 2 years of Felney! It was in the bizarre "purple and gold" scheme of my old site, but I restored it to the "anarchy" scheme I remember it having when I first made it. And also put the text in black tables for better readability. 31/01/26 - Bukawk January 31st marks the 10th birthday of Tabakushō, so I, er, made a new run-of-the-mill strip for it. There's also a "bonus" strip in the archive, which I made for a blog entry back in 2016. Anyway, I also finished off the other game intended for Felney's 25th birthday... Giant Chickens of DOOM!, so go and enhjoy it's chaotic nonsensicalness. 04/02/26 - The Lord God Made Them All... he got his set square out for this one The Hourly Comic for 2026 is up. Also I've done some other misc fiddling about and tidying around the site, mainly giving Storyinfo some much-needed organised index pages for it's various minor categories. 24/02/26 - Premiumish The Doom page has been jiggled-about with. Now each wad has it's own page. I should probably add extra screenshots, for the ones worthy of it. Recently I downloaded a couple of free 3D-capable game engines, called Flax Engine and Redot. They need coding, mind you... but what else was I gonna do, study Japanese? 15/03/26 - EPS121 I uploaded Tea Room Mystery. Two other mini-stories are on the way... somewhen or other. Also the usual bunch of tidying up around the site. 22/03/26 - ゴッチャ! I made a new game, it's more 3D Game Maker rubbish, though. It's called Twilight Hunt. I've also seperated out the Darkbasic-based games (Darkbasic, 3D Game Maker and FPS Creator) into their own section, especially as I intend to crank out a fair few more 3DGM games, for my own amusement if nothing else. 13/04/26 - Shabana Mahmood has openly called for a surveillance state. I uploaded PIE 2 to the Mini-Comics page. I'll save the next one for "doling out" next month. I created mini-comics with the intention of putting them on junior high school students' worksheets, "serialised" through the year as an extra thing for them to read, using what they'd studied in that chapter of the book. Last year, I didn't do any lesson planning, just assisting, so I just saved up the comics and put them all on the walls of each classroom, at the end of the year. Still, I had big plans for this year, three adventure strips for JR high, but this time, 11 whole pages of comic, for "serialising" on each classroom's wall each month. Not only for the three grades of Junior High, but also for grade 5 and 6 of elementary school, who I'd do some silly Beano-type comics for. I re-signed a contract with the same ALT dispatch company and awaited developments... So it turns out I'm actually going to be working in an "office" run by the Board of Education, occasionally visiting nursery schools, and making hundreds of stickers and magnets to give out to kids when we visit. I will have ZERO regular classes and ZERO regular kids to teach. This is quite clearly a "corner office", "by the window" placement intended to induce me to quit. Well I have to wait 2-3 months until the new visa comes, but they'll get what they want, don't you fuckin' worry. My dispatch company also gave me a "temporary occasional for July and August" Saturday job last year, which they keep increasing my hours at. Won't be sorry to see the back of that fucker, neither. Anyway, this has rather knocked me for six, and content creation has, as you can no doubt see, ground to a halt. I'll try and get the Comitia 75 report and some more Figshit picks out fairly soon, though. I've also been tinkering about with a game-making engine called Redot, though the same black dogs that assailed me over my job have bought my following the tutorials on that to a grinding halt, too. A protracted, mild-but-present-enough-to-be-annoying cold didn't help, either. I have also learned that it's based on another engine called Godot, forking after a (very mild, by the standards of Ccomics and movies) "wokeness" controversy. So far there's pretty much nothing at all to distinguish Redot from Godot, except a sound pitch adjusting feature. But that does mean all Godot tutorials apply to Redot! Including tutorials about how to compile your projects into an actual exe... an actual exe with a minimum file size of 65mb! The maximum file size I can upload on my host is 50mb. "Upgrade your package", you say... yeah, so I look through the comparisons of the different packages on offer. How much information do they have on maximum file size uploads, do you suppose? Is it FUCKING ZERO? Because they provide precisely FUCKING ZERO information on maximum file size uploads. So I go looking through their help pages, how much information on maximum file sizes is in those, do you suppose? Is it FUCKING ZERO? Because the total amount of information they have on maximum file size uploads anywhere outside of the "Max size 50mb" warning on the uploader, is FUCKING ZERO. Why oh why can't THICK CUNTS just make shit clear? 30/04/26 - ヒロコミ shut down 3: More digital archaeology has bought an old F.A.T. text file to light, which makes for entertaining reading. I often make fun of "the shit I beleived when I was 16", well now you can go and check out U.F.O Spotting - The Anarchist Way! ...wait, I still stand by most of what I wrote in that. Anyway, it's from 21st July 2000,so I'd been 16 for precisely one month when I made it. Thinking about happier times also reminded me of some other old videogames I wanted to make, back when I had absolutely no means of doing so, so those have been added to Story Info. 11/05/26 - Rasberry and Rosehip We're less than a week out from Kansai Comitia 76, so it's probably about time I uploaded the report on Kansai Comitia 75, eh? It's pretty barebones, as I forgot most of it, then slept on the remaining few writeups of purchases until months later. Often literally sleeping on; a couple of colds and the ole' black dogs around my new job caused a lot of sleep deprivation, so on weekends I had to catch up. I also added an assorted bunch of ephemera that might be interesting for 5 seconds. Anyway, the new job isn't so bad, we (I work with a Phillippinese guy) get sent around playschools to do a couple of simple lessons for really tiny kids. At one of them, we did well enough that we've been invited to go back once a month to just play with the kids. And my teachers told me that playing about in school would never get me anywhere in life! Anyway, I also uploaded St. Jude's on Tour, the last of the mini-comics made for the 2025-26 school year. None are planned for this year (very few Junior Highs will be visited!), so there won't be any new ones for a good while yet. We recently had Golden Week in Japan, which is a bunch of bank holidays stuck together, so it's effectively a "week off" (rarely matches an actual week, though!). I took the opportunity to 19/05/26 - Never Stopped me Dreaming I went to Kansai Comitia 76 on Sunday. That link's actually dead at the moment, but having it up will motivate me to finish the report a bit quicker than the previous one, eh? Actually the bulk of it's written already, I'm just checking through the comics so I can do blurbs about them. I did want to make a Multimedia Fusion 2 game called Elementress, for a game jam over at The Daily Click, but the only day I really had free for doing it, I got a pounding headache out of nowhere, and just laid on the floor all day. It was like a whisky hangover, without even the fun bit of having been to a whisky bar the night before (at least I saved money). Oh well, maybe I'll make it anyway one day. I've been wanting to make some form of "element" or "season" game, with a transforming character, forever. Maybe I'll do it in Redot, to get me eye in. Anyway, with that knocked on the head for the time being, I'll knock out some more crappy The 3D Game Maker games, instead. Honestly it's more fun to make them than it is to play them, but hey, they're content! I did want to make one about speeding through cities, smashing through roads that have been closed for a funfair, rather than going the correct way round. It was intended to have 7 levels, with custom item placements... unfortunately, I discovered the hard way that there's an unstated hard limit of 4 customised levels per game. If you try to customise a fifth one, it un-customises one of the others at random! So all the T3DGM games I'll make in future will be 3 levels or less. 06/06/26 - Nonsensical Slogan New game! It's another 3D Game Maker one, so don't expect anything fun. T3DGM games are more fun to make than they are to play. This one is Ice Station Escape, related to Teddy Bear World, which I'm working on some extra pages for. 27/06/26 - Paapuru Last weekend I went to a small BL-only convention called Naniwa BL Shimonogatari and got some bits 'n bobs. Then I stuffed my face with Yakiniku, because it was also my birthday. Minor detail, there. Anyway, I uploaded Teddy Bear World in amongst Insanity Please a long time ago, and gave it it's own barebones website later on. Now I've given it some more pages and information. I also finally reuploaded Can't Sleep!. I don't know why I didn't do that back when the site was first revived, to be honest. Anyway I also gave it a fancy new logo. Took nearly 5 minutes to make, that did. Also recently there was a controversy over the latest Crazy Taxi game using AI for a few background textures. So I made Hazy Taxi to take the piss out of it. And I since made the slightly-improved version 2, too! Also the demolition work on the Misono Building has begun, almost a whole year after the final event held there. For several months after they still had the lights and fountains on, but now it's finally going to vanish for good. Still time to forward me that billion to build a new version, Elon! |
